(the Executive Board elections will be held the day of the next General Membership Meeting, April 3, from 0700-1900 at the Lodge.)
Well it’s time to vote for your FOP E-Board on April 3rd! I am again running for the position of Sergeant at Arms.
After graduation I was assigned to EPD for 11 years then transferred to the Traffic Unit where I spent a total of 17years. During that time I was tasked with many different jobs including training most of the new personnel that would transfer into the TEU. I was one of four officers that helped roll out the E-Ticking system in August 2011 and assisted in the implementation of a computerized Accident Diagram package. I also had the privilege of escorting numerous VIP’s visiting Kansas City including Presidential visits, various team owners etc.
However the most important assignment was the honor of escorting fallen officers to their final resting place. Many of the fallen had worked with my father, Billy Joe Witcig. Both my father and brother, Tim Witcig, retired from the PD.
I retired in December 2016 with 28 years of service and have been an FOP member my entire career. I have served on the E-Board as the Head Trustee and as the Sergeant at Arms for the last 6 years.
As a Board member I have attended the last three National and State Conferences representing our lodge.
I am asking for your vote on April 3rd to keep me as your Sergeant at Arms on the E-Board.
Remember, I’m available anytime for your FOP needs.
