(the Executive Board elections will be held the day of the next General Membership Meeting, April 3, from 0700-1900 at the Lodge.)
My name is Jason Quint and I am asking for your vote on April 3rd, 2018. I am running for First Vice President of KCFOP, Lodge 99. I am a sergeant currently assigned to East Patrol Division W3. I’ve been assigned to the Regional Training Academy, TRT-1, Central Patrol Division W1 and W3, and South Patrol Division W1 and W3 in my 17 years of experience. I have been asked by friends and family why I would want to do this. I have had one response for them that I would like to also share with you. I choose to serve the members of this department both past and present. I believe that active members simply must take the lead in our organization, we are the future.
I chose to serve my country 21 years ago when I joined the United States Marine Corps and after an honorable discharge from active duty service I chose to continue to serve by joining the KCPD. I currently give my time back to the members of the FOP by being part of the FOP Critical Incident Response Team. It has been my honor to respond from home on multiple occasions for officers involved in a critical incident. I have also fielded several phone calls at all hours of the day by officers who need some reassurance about a situation that may have spiraled out of control. I have also served countless members of the FOP by being a representative during disciplinary processes. No matter what it’s been, when my phone rings I have answered and done my best for the FOP and for the member affected. If elected as your First Vice President I will promise only one thing; I will continue to serve the members of the FOP for as long as you’re willing to have me. I have every intention of making the FOP a stronger organization. If elected, my goal is to reach out to all of you in the near future. I plan on making myself an additional liaison option for you by making roll calls to help bridge the communication gap between the members and the FOP. I would also like to encourage your involvement beyond the monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of every month. If you are reading this letter you are potentially a voting member and you have a voice in the direction this organization goes. If you allow me the opportunity, I want to be your voice.
